Thank you for taking the time to learn about VIKN Dynamics. You are witnessing the start of a new private practice. The inception point began in the spring of 2024 with the intent to provide integrative, interactive mental and emotional care through innovation and evidence-based practice. We stay on the forefront of current research and encourage outside of the box, creative thinking. This is a place where you do you, exactly as you are, in your entirety.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Associate in the state of Washington working with individuals, couples, and families. As an associate, I am grateful to work closely with my supervisor, Gary D. Alexander.
My life's work began 20+ years ago with professional and Olympic athletes in pain management, functional restoration, and mobility post injury. I am a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a strength and conditioning specialist and personal trainer and am a member of the American College of Sports Medicine. In 2010, I became a licensed massage therapist in the state of Washington and am a current member of the American Association of Massage Therapy. After my time in the athletic arena, I shifted focus to work with people adjusting to a life altering diagnosis and chronic disease management. Each step in my career, there were distinct connections within the physical body and the mental/emotional state of the individual. Even more, recovery was influenced by systems beyond just the healing individual. I wanted to know more. This led me to Couples and Family Therapy where I can combine my experience of the human body into the world of mental and emotional health and the surrounding systems.
I hold a BS degree in Exercise Science from Arizona State University and an MA degree in Couples and Family Therapy from Seattle University.
Taking care of our health, especially in a fast-paced society that demands immediate results, requires taking the time to slow down and understand the specific individual and the systems in which they operate. Without this information, it is challenging to effectively make long lasting change.
Based on my own human and educational experience, I don’t believe in a "one size fits all" theoretical approach. My style is intentional, direct, and clever, tailored around you and your expertise living in your life experience. I believe in a bottom-up approach understanding how the body, heart, and mind work together. The most effective therapy involves you and your ability to do the work. My process is transparent and straight-forward specifically integrating your strengths and resiliency.
